Notes for Labor Day Weekend

  • I am doing an O’Reilly webcast on Wednesday (9/7) around my Every Book Is a Startup project. The 60 minute webcast starts at 1PM Eastern / 10AM Pacific. It is free and you can register here.
  • SXSW has extended the deadline for voting on 2012 speaking proposals. I have submitted a solo talk on Every Book Is A Startup. If you have a moment, please hop over and give it a thumbs up. Voting closes Monday at midnight.
  • There is an incredible article about risk and long term thinking in this week’s BusinessWeek titled The God Clause and the Reinsurance Industry. I highly recommend taking the time to read this one.
  • And thanks to everyone who participated in the my sons’ Summer Booke Sale. We sold 16 boxes to customers all over the United States. If you are ordered a box, the shipments were sent USPS Media Mail and you should receive them in the next few days. The first purchase with the proceeds from the sale was Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension for the Wii.
