I talked about the Hulk last week and I wanted to share one more story. Stan Lee mentioned the original color for the Hulk was gray. He thought it was an appropriate monster color, kind of menacing and scary. The printer called during the first production run and told Lee they were having a hard time creating a consistent shade of gray. Lee surveyed the comic universe and looked for a color that that wasn’t being used by another superhero. Lee decided to go with the available color of green.
There are two morals that I get from this story:
- Understand the capabilities of your suppliers.
- Sometimes, the most important aspect of your product or service can come about by accident. Embrace it!
